The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has reformed its Estate Management Department to make it more efficient and to turn the campus one of best greenish areas.

Addressing the ceremony held in this regard at New Senate Hall, UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf said that university was making serious efforts to ensure foolproof security. He said that special training of the security staff were being held to equip them with modern technique to face untoward incidences. Besides, the trainings were also carried out to polish their behaviors to deal with general public and students in a better and sophisticated way. He said another wing of Estate Management was dealing with plantation. He said that the university was turning all out efforts for green cause and will plant one lakh sampling in the campus by the end of this academic year. Whereas,15,000 sapling have been planted so far. He said that as someone enters the campus, he finds it lush green and the temperature in the campus is three and four centigrade less than the city. He lauded the steps of the government of launching billions tree program in a bid to mitigate climate change impact. He called for public participation in Prime Minister’s Clean and Green Pakistan plantation campaign in order to address the issue of emerging challenges including climate changes etc. He said that everyone should plant a sapling for breathing. This is a way forward a save the coming generation from the hazardous effects of climate. He said that everyone must plan a tree for their oxygen and clean environment. Estate Management Principal Officer Dr Qamar Bilal said that uniform of the security guards had been changed keeping the standards in view. He said that special session of the staff was being conducted to improve their efficiency. He said that as many as one lakh plants would also be added to the campus that will further improve the environment of the campus. He said that steps are affords to address the issue of staff so that they can work more effectively.
