The University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Friday observed egg day 2019 to encourages people to include egg in their daily diet and set up egg dishes stalls at Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, UAF.

UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Prof Dr Muhammad Ashraf inaugurated egg stalls held in connection with World Egg Day. He was flanked by Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Dean Dr Zafar Iqbal Qureshi, Faculty of Animal Sciences Dr Muhammad Sajjad, Dean Social Sciences Dr Mahmood A Randhawa, Dean Sciences Dr Muhammad Asghar Bajwa, Dr Tariq Javed, Dr Shahbaz Talib, Dr Muhammad Kashif, Dr Anas, Dr Ashar Mehfooz, Dr Rao Zahid, Dr Khalid Shouq, Dr Kashif Iqbal, Dr Misbah Ijaz and other notables.Talking to participants, Dr Muhammad Ashraf said that eggs must be made the essential part of our intake. He said that egg is high values food and also decreases the risk of many diseases like cardiovascular and cancer. He said that egg is an important source of nutrition. It contains proteins, minerals and vitamins. He said that egg yolks were excellent source of choline which is an essential nutrient, contribution to brain development and helps prevent birth defects, eyesight loss and heart attacks. He said there was a need to change food habits keeping its nutrition value, life style and body requirement in view. He said we had to adopt the simplicity in our food that would lead towards a health society. Talking about university, he said that all-out efforts were being made to ensure presence of UAF in top 500 universities of the globe as per world acclaimed rankings like QS and Times. He said that for the said cause, quality education and tangible research work were being paid special attention. He said that in the recent past, the university had appointed and promoted 300 faculty members on pure merit and transparency. Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Dean Dr Zafar Iqbal said that world egg day was initiated in 1996 to raise awareness among the masses about its benefits and their important role in life. The Punjab Information Technology Board and University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Friday inked a Memorandum of Understanding. The MoU was duly inked by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf and Director General (e-Governance) PTIB Sajid Latif. According to agreement, the parties will corporate in Electronic filling, office automation, human resource management and other projects. Additional Director General PITB Muhammad Waseem Bhatti, UAF Director External Linkages Dr Rasheed Ahmad, Dr Shahbaz Talib Sahi, Director Planning Irfan Abbas, and Project Director Kashif Akram also attended the meeting. Dr Muhammad Ashraf said UAF had paced up its efforts to adopt electronic filing and office automation system to ensure transparency merit, and time saving in line with modern trends. He said that IT had made management process more sophisticated. He said that with the help of learning management system, the lectures be made available online to provide an opportunity to students to get benefit. Sajid Latif said that PITB had set up e-filing and Office Automation System which enabled timely and effective management of official daily tasks and proceed towards a paperless office environment in the public sector. The digital copies of official documents are made and uploaded onto the system. These copies are also stored on a cloud server.
