Turkish Nidge Omer Halisdemir University and University of Agriculture Faisalabad will collaborate in academia, research, faculty and students exchange programs, with the special focus on food and agriculture.

It was discussed at one-day international seminar on natural food arranged by Institute of Food Sciences and Technology UAF. Dr Zeliha Selamoglu Chairperson, Department of Medical Biology of the said Turkish University and UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf were the chief guests on the occasion. Dr Zeliha Selamoglu said that collaborations among both universities will help learn from each experiences. She said that effective usage of food helped oneself as medicine. She stressed upon the need to make the usage of natural food. Dr Muhammad Ashraf both countries are enjoying good relations, having similarities in traditions etc. He said Turkey always stood with Pakistan in the difficult times including earthquake, floods; and helped us in poverty alleviation. He said that Pakistan development is directly linked to the rural development. He said that the demand of the organic food was rising due to its nutrition value. He said that Turkey was pacing the development and we have to learn from them. Faculty Dean Dr Masood Sadiq Butt said that the usage of natural food will lower ailment in the society. Whereas, the people should minimize junk food that is responsible for many diseases. Dr Nuzhat Huma said that UAF was the pioneer to kick of the nutrition degree program in the country keeping in view its need and importance,
