It was stated by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while talking to Chinese experts here who visited the UAF to attend four-day teachers training workshop of trainers of all four Confucius Institute (CIs) situated in the country. They participants also discussed the curriculum and other area of mutual concerns. The Chinese delegation was headed by Dr Yang Zhejiang, Dean, CI UAF. The Vice Chancellor said that China-Pakistan were enjoying strengthened and time-tested ties that are more strengthened with China Pakistan Economic Corridor. He said that UAF academic ties with Chinese universities are being boosted to get benefit from each other experience. He said Chinese universities were proving their mettle globally in every filed. . He added the country will witness an economic turnaround that would help ensure sustainable development due to CPEC. He said that the food security is one of the major concerns for the globe. He lauded the steps being taken on the part of China to flourish industry and agriculture. He said the collaborative efforts with the counterpart will help increase the agrarian production. He said the China helps Pakistan in economic, trade, infrastructure and many other fronts. He said that UAF had introduced the ten varieties of the mangoes that will help in issuing quality high production. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that UAF was housing a Confucius Institute that was among the best institution in the country. Chinese Xinjiang Agriculture University Dean Yang Zhejiang said that the both countries are enjoying time-tested bilateral ties that are deeper than ocean and higher than mountains . He said that CIs are being established in the different institutions that will help cement the cultural ties. He said that under the CI, cultural, language and cooking courses, are being offered that will further help the people of the both countries to come further closer. He lauded the steps being taken on the part of UAF Confucius Institute to train the people about Chinese. CI –UAF Vice Chairman Dr Ashfaq Ahmad Chatha said that six Chinese language courses and cooking had been completed at the CI-UAF. We are also working on providing six month scholarships for the students. He said as many more than 35 faculty members of UAF had studied from China. He said that the UAF was enjoying good relations with the Chinese institutions. He said that agriculture is the backbone of our economy that is directly linked to the rural development. Prof. Dr. Zhang Daojian from National University of Modern Language, Islamabad Confucius Institute; Prof. Dr. Liu.Chengsheng from University of Punjab Confucius Institute; Prof. Dr Li Yong from University of Karachi Confucius Institute along with 35 Chinese delegation also participated in the teacher training workshop.
