The Department of Anatomy, University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Wednesday arranged a national workshop on the teaching and research techniques in anatomy.

The Department of Anatomy, University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Wednesday arranged a national workshop on the teaching and research techniques in anatomy. The inaugural session was chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Dean Prof Dr Ahrar Khan, PAEC Director Academics and Coordination Dr Sohail Hameed, Department Chairman Dr Anas Sarwar and other notables also spoke on the occasion. Addressing on the occasion, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that university was taking all possible measures to produce the trained manpower by ensuring the quality education in the country. He said that the University was used to organize such events to raise the awareness among the masses about the different issues. He said that the research portfolio of the university had touched to Rs 3 billion which is among the largest in the country. He stressed upon the need to produce the research keeping in view the problems of the industry, common man and farming community in view. He said that most of the population was living in the rural area and depending upon the agriculture and livestock sector. Dr Ahrar Khan said that He said that poverty alleviation was directly linked to the sector. He said the university was the first ever educational institution in the country which has been ranked in top 100 universities of the world. Dr Anas said that the UAF had produced 3000 DVMs, and 120 PhDs in veterinary sciences so far.
