The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has kicked off third Inter Hostel Women Sports Gala in order to promote the sports activities.

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has kicked off third Inter Hostel Women Sports Gala in order to promote the sports activities. The women from ten hostels are taking part. The games comprises cricket, basket ball, badminton, table tennis, athletics, tug of war, cycling, etc. the games will continue till March 4. Inaugurating the gala, UAF Vice Chancellor said that the varsity management was determined to provide state of the art sports facilities to the student youth by eliminating the gender barrier. He said that the women should come forwards in the all sphere of life. He said that the university was spending heavy funds on the sports in order to provide the modern sports facilities to the students. He urged that the girls to show their presence in the sports arena that will keep them fit and healthy . He hoped that the sports facilities will attract the students come in the ground and actively participate in the games. He said that Punjab government funded hostel for 1000 female students had been set up at the campus that will help cater the need of boarding female students. He lauded the financial help of the Punjab Government for construction of 4 squash courts, one gymnasium, and one multipurpose air- conditioned hall “we have an outstanding sports facilities comparing with any university of the country” he claimed. Director Sports Dr Ashfaq Ahmad said that the university was taking all possible resources for the promotion of sports culture in the youth that was showing a declining trend. Hall Warden Dr Zafar Iqbal Qureshi said that healthy activities are the guarantee of the healthy minds. He said that we are trying our level best to ensure the modern facilities. Dr Bushra Sadia, and Dr Farah Riaz also spoke on the occasion.
