Trained manpower, quality education and research are prerequisite to make the development and to fight the different challenges confronting the country, said University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. He addressed the UAF 60th alumnae meeting held at Iqbal Auditorium. Dr Iqrar Ahmad said that the University was making all-out efforts to ensure quality education and to come with tangible researches based on the problems of the farming community and industry. He urged the agriculturists to expedite their efforts and come up with innovative solutions for the agricultural development. He also announced that old campus and Jinnah Hall would be transformed into museum and alumni headquarter respectively as per glory of Punjab Agriculture College. He also added that UAF D- Ground would be made amphitheater to hold the large gathering including convocation, alumni meet etc. He said that the UAF comparative research had touched to Rs 2.5 billion which is the highest in the country. He added that the University enrolment has surpassed 24000 students. The university is only institution in the country which is ranked among top 100 universities of the globe in any category. He said that recently, UAF has set up two hostels for 3000 students. He said that the UAF has developed a catalogue of 101 innovations that will revolutionise the agricultural sector.
