The students should focus on enhancing their professional skills and come up with innovative idea in their respective fields that will help fight the challenge of unemployment. It was stated by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar A Khan while presiding over the job fair and networking arranged by Directorate of Financial Assistance and University Advancement, UAF. He also urged the students to initiate start-up company to testify their business ideas that will help them become job providers rather than job seekers . He said the quality and trained manpower was a guarantee of a bright future. The university was making all possible measures to produce the trained manpower that will help the agricultural sector to cope with the different challenges. He said that university was providing financial assistance worth Rs 750 million to the 40 percent of the students. The university admission policy prefers rural background population which is marginalized segment of the society. He said strong academia-industry linkages, knowledge based economy and innovative thinking are imperative to address the issues of industry, common man, farmers and other stakeholders that will help alleviate the poverty from the country. He said the country was blessed with the talented youth. By sharpening the skills of students with practical knowledge, we can compete with the rest of the world. Financial Assistance Director Hafeez Sadaqat said that the university was making all possible steps to provide the financial assistance to the needy students to continue their journey of education. He said that 4 out of 10 students are getting the financial aid at the campus. Saqib Siddique from BICAS Consultancy UK said that they would provide one million scholarship t the UAF.
