The menace of prejudice can be rooted out by promoting tolerance, patience and education in the society. There is need to expedite work on peoples’ attitude and ways of thinking for absorbing difference of opinions that will help overcome terrorism This was stated by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan at the annual function of the Department of Rural Sociology held at the UAF village heritage. UAF Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Iqbal Zafar was the guest of honor on the occasion while Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Dr Tanvir Ali, Chairman Sociology Dr Ashfaq Mann, Dr Izahr Ahmad Khan , Director Farm Dr Farooq Ahmad and other notable also attended. The students presentHed the skits and performances presenting the rural colors before the large gathering. Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the country was running through difficult times due to different challenges. He said that we have to work on the mindset of the people to spend peaceful life in respective of the colors, creeds, religions and others. He said that extremism had taken roots in our society. Now it is our collective responsibility to defeat the terrorism by working on the mindset of the people. He added that patience in the society was declining that is a matter of grave concern. He said that they were making all-out efforts to work on the ethics of the students so that they would become responsible citizens of the society. He said that quality education works as the engine of bright future of the nations. He added that UAF had taken all possible measures to train the manpower and ensure the quality education at par with the international standards. He said that country is blessed with the tremendous talents. There is a need to tap the potential.
