Condolence reference for the University of Agriculture Faisalabad former Dean Dr Khurshed Alam (late) was held at the New Senate Hall to commemorate his illustrious services for the area of teaching and agricultural research. The session was presided over by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. While, his son Salman Khurshed, Dean Faculty of Agriculture Dr Muhammad Amjad, UAF oldest Alumnus Abdul Qayum, Arid Agriculture Rawalpindi former vice chancellor Dr Khalid Mehmood, Ayub Research Director General Dr Abid Mehmood, Principal UAF sub campus Burewala Dr Abdus Salam Khan, Former Dean Faulty of Agriculture Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Chairman Plant Breeding and Genetics Dr Hafeez Sadaqat, Chairman Forestry Dr Tahir Siddique, and other notables also spoke on the occasion. Dr Iqrar A Khan said that the late professor had rendered commendable service to the agriculture sector in term of research and academia that will be written in the golden words. He said that being the first ever PhD in agriculture sciences across the country, he had produced numerous research papers and talented students who are working day and night for the sector. Salman Khurshed said that his father throughout his life worked hard for the agriculture sector and academia. He said they intended to begin Khurshed Alam scholarship at the UAF for needy and talented students. He said that his father was used to advocate hard work, merit, and commitment. Abdul Qayum said that great people are remembered forever. There is a need to follow in the footprint of such people who thought out of box and worked in the development of the county. Dr Muhammad Amjad said that the legend services are remarkable that helped in the progress of the sector. The meeting also prayed for the departed soul and pledged to continue his mission.
