A stakeholders’ dialogue was conducted at Punjab Economic Research Institute (PERI), Lahore on 08-06-2017. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq and Dr. Muhammad Asif Kamran participated from USPCAS-AFS.

A stakeholders’ dialogue was conducted at Punjab Economic Research Institute (PERI), Lahore on 08-06-2017. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq and Dr. Muhammad Asif Kamran participated from USPCAS-AFS. Dr. Mumtaz Anwar Chaudhry (Director, PERI) chaired the meeting and discussed the key areas related to agriculture policy and issues. Chair Agriculture Policy USPCAS-AFS presented the USPCAS-AFS activities and asked participants to identify policy research areas/gaps that may help better to understand agricultural policy related issues. Based on the feedback from the participants it was observed that there is a need to compare taxes and subsidies on agriculture sector to properly answer the claim that agriculture is highly subsidized area. There is a need to improve data for perishable commodities for better projection and forecasting. Twenty researchers from PERI also participated and gave valuable suggestions related to agricultural problems.
