Brazilian Ambassador Mr. Claudio Lins here on Tuesday underscored the need to further strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and Brazil especially in the field of education, research and trade. He was discussing matters of mutual interest with University of Agriculture, Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan in his chamber. He expressed his concerns over the deteriorating climatic condition and said that human race depleted the climate and his country was also suffering badly. He said that it is the responsibility of whole society who must be united to fight the challenge of climate change. He said that the academic ties between the both countries will bring the tangible results. He assured of his complete cooperation in this regard. While applauding the efforts on the part of UAF, the Brazilian Ambassador said that professional networking of this university at international level was praiseworthy. He asked the university management to sit together with management of Brazilian universities, which is likely to visit Pakistan shortly and explore possible cooperation and collaboration. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan termed school nutrition program of Brazil a praiseworthy. He said that Brazil had earned good name in citrus, soybean, energy, and sugarcane. He stressed upon the need to learn from Brazil experiences. He said that we have the large population of youth. If we train them and provide quality education and skill them the country can overcome the challenges of the poverty, unemployment and low per capita income. He said that climate changes were smashing the agronomic pattern of the country. He said that joint efforts on the part of researchers, policy makers and other stakeholders are need of the hour.
