The promotion of agri tourism will help increase the interest of farming among the young generation. This was stated by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar during visiting Agri Tourism and Development Coperation and Qadir Buksh Nursery at Gatwala on Monday evening.

This was stated by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar during visiting Agri Tourism and Development Coperation and Qadir Buksh Nursery at Gatwala on Monday evening. He met Agri Tourism Development Corporation of Pakistan Chief Executive Officer Tariq Tanveer and Dr Khaliq Shouq and discussed the area of collaboration. The Vice Chancellor said that there is a need to develop entrepreneurship among the students amid the challenge of increasing unemployment in the society. He said that an idea can change one’s life. He said that technology had brought the development in the world. He said that society had shifted to the modern one shape from hunting society owing to technology. He said that the university was making a strategy under which each scientist of UAF would come up with innovative technology that would bring the change in the society. He lauded the steps being taken on the part of the farm for the promotion of farming in the country. Dr Khalid Shouq said entrepreneurship and innovative ideas skills among youth had become need of the hour to alleviate the poverty from the country. He said that the agriculture sector has been facing tremendous challenges. To fight with challenges, we have to make the collaborated efforts. He stressed upon the need to enhance the collaboration among the agri educational and research institutions and other segment of the agriculture of the country Tariq Tanveer said that in the third week of September, they are organizing the agri tourism festival aimed at its promotion among the people. He said that they are making all out efforts to introduce trends in the sector and to narrow down role of middle man role by bringing the consumers at farm gate.
