The University of Agriculture Faisalabad Academic Council has approved eight new undergraduate BS (four years) degree programs from next academic year in order to produce skilled manpower in the different fields.

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad Academic Council has approved eight new undergraduate BS (four years) degree programs from next academic year in order to produce skilled manpower in the different fields. The Academic Council meeting headed by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar was held at the New Senate Hall. Registrar Muhammad Hussain presented the agenda before the House. The new four-year undergraduate programs included BS (Botany); BS (Chemistry); BS (Biochemistry); BS (Physics); BS ( Zoology); BS ( Stat) ; BS ( Math); and BS (English). The House also directed to expedite the registration process of teaching staff of Faculty of Veterinary Sciences with Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council. The House also nominated Dr Muhammad Ashfaq from Institute of Agri and Resource Economics as member of Graduate Studies and Research Board. The Vice Chancellor said that university was making all-out efforts to produce skilled manpower, tangible researches; and to address the problems of the society. He said that quality education was the engine of bright future of any nation as no nation can make the development without ensuring the quality of the education. He said that poverty alleviation was directly linked to skilled manpower and education level. He stressed upon the need to produce the manpower equipped with quality education. He said that degree awarding institutes are mandated to create knowledge and sharing, to build economies and leadership at all levels. He added that UAF had taken all possible measures to train the manpower and ensure the quality education at par with the international standards. He said that country is blessed with the tremendous talents. There is a need to tap the potential.
