Three-day training workshop titled English for Academic Purposes held at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad has concluded. The workshop was arranged by the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) in collaboration with Higher Education Commission Learning Innovation Division. Chairing the session, UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar said that effective communication skills were imperative not only for teaching purposes but also excel in every sphere of life. He stressed upon the need to develop the effective communication skills that will pave the way for the growth and prosperity. He said that trained, and skilled manpower having command over effective community skill will help the country to alleviate the poverty and to reduce the unemployment from the country. He urged the researchers to come up out of the box solutions to the problem faced the country. Dean Faculty of Sciences Dr Muhammad Asgher said that there is need to polish the commination skills of the students to excel in every sphere of life. He said that the country was blessed with the tremendous talent. There is need to tap the potential. He stressed upon the need of quality education to compete with the rest of the world. ORIC Director Dr Zahir Ahmad Zahir said that the workshop was meant for enhancing English language skills of the participants not only in the academic work but also in the research. He said that UAF was used to hold the such activities in order to build the capacity of the participants. Dr Khalid Mehmood from International Islamic University, Dr Adnan Tahir form Emerson College Multan, Dr M Asif from GCUF and Arif Khatak from FAST, and Dr Muhammad Rasheed from ORIC office also spoke.
