University of Agriculture Faisalabad spokesman Prof Jalal Arif on Thursday said that the University Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, has suspended the penalty of expulsion of UAF student Kashan Gilani. He said on Wednesday, Kashan Gilani appealed to the Vice Chancellor, to review the decision on sympathetic ground. The Vice Chancellor referred the matter to the disciplinary committee and sought the report within 24 hours. The parents of the student were called before the committee where he made unconditional apology over his misconduct. The spokesman said considering the advice of committee made at its emergent meeting on 6 Jan, 2016 on the appeal of appellant after providing him an opportunity of personal hearing, the UAF Vice Chancellor suspended the expulsion penalty forever from Winter, 2015-16. He said that Kashan was rusticated over defaming the educational institution.
