University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan has called for producing skilled manpower that will act as an engine of bright future and prosperity of the country. He was addressing concluding session of three day Indigenous On Campus Training held at Video Conference Room. The training was arranged by Office of Research, Innovations and Commercialization (ORIC), UAF in collaboration with Higher Education Commission. The Vice Chancellor said that knowledge based economies like US, Japan, China etc are progressing rapidly. He lauded the steps being taken on the part of Government for promotion of education in which special focus was being given on the technical and vocationally trained manpower. He said that the university was bringing the state-of-the-art education and examination system to facilitate the students. He said that it was their duty to equip the students with skills and moral values in order to steer the country out of the different challenges. He said that the new interventions including information technology and others were being used at the campus to serve the students, and other stakeholder. He said that He said that agriculture is the backbone of our country and the UAF was taking all tangible steps to ensure food security. Director ORIC Prof Dr Aslam Mirza said that the second phase of training was aimed at enhancing capacity of the Grade 1 to 16 employees for equipping them with modern tools of effective working. He urged the participants to learn the modern trend that will make their working more effective. Treasurer Umar Saeed trained the participants about the modern tools to manage of financial management. Rana Khalid Mehmood urged the participants to apply the knowledge attained though workshop at the workplace. Dr Ahrar Khan trained the participants about the work place ethics. Dr Khalid Mehmood stressed upon the need to learn the art of drafting and to polish the writing skills. Farjeel Javed said that ICT has gained immense importance in the dissemination of knowledge.
