Speakers at workshop on Tuesday called for creating awareness among the masses to follow traffic rules in order to avert road incidences that are taking precious lives of commuters. The skill development workshop on the driving of vehicles, tractors and generators was held at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. It was organized by Faculty of Agricultural Engineering; Motor Pool Department and Treasurer Office in collaboration with City Traffic Police. Dean Faculty of Agri Engineering Prof Dr Allah Buksh said traffic education was prerequisite to bring about discipline in traffic. He said that underage drivers, double parking, lack of civic sense and mushroom traffic growth were the root cause of traffic mess. He stressed upon introducing the traffic rules’ inclusion in syllabus. Treasure Umer Saeed said that with the growing population, the traffic was increasing with the large pace. In the current scenario, it is must to follow the traffic rules to safeguard the lives of the peoples. He said that 80 percent of accidents are caused by negligence, rash driving, speeding, drowsiness, lane violation and use of mobile causes.
