Like other parts of the globe, women day was also observed at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad with traditional zeal and enthusiasm.

Like other parts of the globe, women day was also observed at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad with traditional zeal and enthusiasm. In this regards different events including walks, girls cycle race, cooking contest and tug of war etc were arranged. The walk which was led by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan started from Iqbal Auditorium and culminated at Admin block. They were chanting slogans regarding role of women in the national development. Talking to the participants, UAF Vice Chancellor stressed upon the need for active participation of women in socio-cultural activities. He said that education works as engine of uplift for the any nation. Girls are outshining the boys in academia. He lauded the steps being taken on the part of government for empowering women and bring them in the decision making for the uplift of the country with their representations . In the cycling contest , more than 50 girls participated in the one kilometer race. In which, Ansa from Khadija Hall bagged the first position while Laiba from Fateh Hall stood second and Mehr un Nisa got the third position.
