German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Director in Islamabad Lars Bergmeyer on Saturday stressed upon the students to devote themselves for knowledge. The education is the only way to development whereas Germany does not charge tuition fees of the mostly courses even from international students. He was addressing a special leccture about study in Germany at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad arranged by Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization and Directorate of Financial Assistance and University Advancement, UAF at New Senate Hall. Talking about advantages to study in Germany, he said that the quality of education is high, and there is no tuition fee throughout the term in the 95 percent programs. He said that Germany was having the oldest educational institutions.Learning the German language is not necessary if you are opting for any course in English,” he said, adding that there are 900 courses in English in Germany. He also said that learning the German language helped people communicate easily in the country. He said that Germany has more than 400 recognised higher education institutes. The application process is fairly easy, he said. A student should must good academic record and IELTS. He also lauded the role of UAF for being the partner of German program in Pakistan and said that it had made eh tremendous progress in the development of the country. He said the German scholarship can be won through Germany, European Union, and HEC. ORIC Director Prof Dr Muhammad Aslam said that the research portfolio of the country has crossed the billions of rupees. He said that UAF was enjoying the good relations across the globe and the DAAD partnership with UAF would further strengthen the agriculture sector in Pakistan. Directorate of Financial Assistance Director Prof Dr Hafeez Sadaqat said that the UAF takes students from the all districts on the quota system with the special focus on the deprived segment of the society. He said that 35 percent students were getting the scholarships.
