"WORLD BOOK AND COPYRIGHT DAY” CELEBRATION AT PARS CAMPUS

Faculty and students of University of Agriculture (UAF) at PARS Campus celebrated the “World Book and Copyright Day” by organizing a walk that was led by Honourable Principle Prof. Dr. Ijaz Ahmad Bhatti. Hundreds of students and teachers participated in the walk. Walk was followed up by a seminar on “Let’s Become a Nation of Readers.” Principal Prof. Dr. Ijaz Ahmad Bhatti shared his views about the importance of reading books with the students. He emphasized on students to read good books particularly during travels, weekends and vacations. He also told that how reading habits shaped the developed nations like Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, and Americans. He said that we also must become a nation of truly competent readers. Library staff circulated the copies of an article “Why and How to Read a Book” written by Mr. Mohsin Lodhi among the students. Librarian Mr. Muhammad Umar Farooq read out some excerpts from the message by Ms Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO on the occasion of the World Book and Copyright Day. The activity has been fruitful in conveying the message of reading books to students of UAF at the PARS Campus. They learned about value of reading good books for youth in the age of internet and electronic media.
