The University of Agriculture Volunteers students and staff have admitted 780out-of-school to different educational institutions under the National Enrolment Drive. The initiative was taken in collaboration with Higher Education Commission on the directive of the government. It is aimed at ensuring school enrollment at 100 percent

The University of Agriculture Volunteers students and staff have admitted 780out-of-school to different educational institutions under the National Enrolment Drive. The initiative was taken in collaboration with Higher Education Commission on the directive of the government. It is aimed at ensuring school enrollment at 100 percent The training session was arranged by Senior Tutor Office, Institute of Agriculture Extension and Rural Development , Community College and Laboratory school system which was chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. Whereas, Director Institute of Agri Extension Prof Dr Tanvir Ali, Senior Tutor Dr Athar Javed, , Dr Khalil-ur-Rehman, and Dr Saleem Mohsin also spoke on the occasion. Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that 2.5 crore people in the country aged between 5 to 16 were not attending the school and now it is our duty to give them the light of education. He said that the education was the only way to make progress and to compete with the rest of world. It is our duty to equip our children with the light of knowledge and education to brighten the future of the country and poverty alleviation. He appreciated the efforts made on the part of student as the community service to admit the students to the schools. Dr Tanvir Ali said that said that technical and professional education was the need of the hour in order to meet the challenges of the modern era. He said that the country was blessed with the tremendous talents. If we increase our literacy rate we can compete with the world. Dr Athar Jaeved said that the only 38 percent girls in rural areas are attending the school. He said that all out efforts are being made to enroll the out of school students in the school as the education is the guarantee of a bright future. We have to raise the awareness among the people. Dr Khalil Ur Rehman called for expediting the efforts to educate the people in order to make the development rapidly
