The University of Agriculture Faisalabad and the University of Kassel, Germany have jointly kicked off two projects on Rural-Urban Linkages; and seabuckthorn under the International Center for Development and Decent Work (ICDD) programme.

Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that rural urban linkages were vital for the development and prosperity of the country. He said that UAF is partnered with ICDD to fight against global hunger and poverty through research and education. He said that the sea buckthorn was having vitamin C. The research and promotion of plant would help in reducing the vitamin c deficiency. He said that that quality research and strong academia-industry linkages are the way forward to address problems of the era. Dr Andreas Burkert said the ICDD is promoting the interdisciplinary knowledge generation and working on income opportunities in rural and urban regions of developing countries. He hoped that the projects would bring the tangible results. Dr Izhar Ahmad said that the Rural Urban Linkages would pave the way to alleviate the poverty.
