Deputy Director General Confucius Institute Headquarter Hanban, China, Xia Jianhui said that China-Pakistan were enjoying deepened and time-tested relations that are being further strengthened in academia, business and trade and students exchange programs to upgrade the living of the peoples.

Deputy Director General Confucius Institute Headquarter Hanban, China, Xia Jianhui said that China-Pakistan were enjoying deepened and time-tested relations that are being further strengthened in academia, business and trade and students exchange programs to upgrade the living of the peoples. He was talking to the University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan at a meeting that was attend by all deans and directors at syndicate room. He said that Pakistan is the best friend of China. He said that Confucius institute was bringing the people more closer. He said that relations start from mutual understanding in which language and culture played a pivotal role. He said that understanding of culture helps the people to come closer and to understand each other. He said that UAF academic ties with Chinese universities should be further boosted to get benefit from each other experience. He said that he was fascinated by the beauty of the campus. He lauded the steps being taken on the part of UAF Confucius Insistute to train the people about Chinese. He said that CIs are being established in the different institutions that will help cement the cultural ties. The Vice Chancellor said that the food security is one of the major concerns for the globe. He lauded the steps being taken on the part of China to flourish industry and agriculture. He said the collaborative efforts with the counterpart will help increase the agrarian production. He said that this year, the cotton production has dropped by 35 percent. He said that UAF was willing to cotton ties with the Chinese universities and institutes to address the issue. He said that the Chinese product were also in high demands in Pakistan. He said the China helps Pakistan in economic, trade, infrastructure and many other fronts. He said that UAF had introduced the ten varieties of the mangoes that will help in issuing quality high production. Dr Ashfaq Chatha said that five Chinese language courses and cooking had been completed at the CI-UAF. He said that CI UAF was setting up summer camps for 50 students in China. We are also working on providing six month scholarships for the students. He said that they are offering online course on grains storage technology. Chinese Xinjiang Agriculture University Dean Yang Zhijiang also spoke on the occasion.
