The University of Agriculture Faisalabad and PEPSICO have inked a memorandum of understanding to kick off internship program for UAF Food and Nutrition Safety Program students.

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad and PEPSICO have inked a memorandum of understanding to kick off internship program for UAF Food and Nutrition Safety Program students. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was duly signed by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan (SI) UAF and PEPSICO International Senior Director Supply Chain and Operations Muhammad Illyas Butt. UAF Dean Food Sciences Dr Masood Sadiq Butt and PEPSICO Regional Manager Izhar-ul-Haq Awan also attended the event. According to agreement, PEPSICO will offer internship to UAF students relating to food and nutrition disciplines to sharpen their skill with practical experience. Each student will be given Rs 15,000 each by PEPSICO. Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan (SI) said that dream of development cannot be achieved without skilled manpower. The initiative is meant for providing food technology students with practical skills. He also said that experience is one of life’s best teachers, but if you don’t study that you will probably never get any experience in the first place. He also explained that food safety is very important for every society because the world is combating new diseases. Dr Masood Sadiq Butt said the internship provides an opportunity to the students to learn something new and excel in their field. He pinned hope on students to work dedicatedly and prove themselves. PEPSICO Regional Manager Izhar-ul-Haq Awan said that every society deserves to have food safety, so that’s why PEPSICO has initiated a project in which they will train the Food technologists about food safety. He said that food safety seminars will be held at the UAF in the coming months.
