It is a matter of grave concern that Pakistan is ranked at 120 number out of 180 countries in Corruption Perception Index

It was said by speakers at an anti-corruption walk taken out at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. The walk led by UAF Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Tanveer was commenced from Faculty of Social Sciences UAF and culminated at Iqbal Auditorium UAF. The rally was arranged by Senior Tutor Office. Addressing on the occasion, Dr Asif Tanveer called for creating the awareness among the people to wipe out the menace that eats up the economy and hampers the progress process. He lauded the efforts of the government to wipe out the corruption from the society. He said that the injection of good ethics would give a way to obliterate the corruption. He added that the university was taking all possible measurer to inject the good characteristics among the students so that they would play their effective role in the development. He urged the people not to be engaged in any activity which lead to breach of law. Principal Officer Students Affair Dr Aftab Wajid said that corruption means not only financial corruption but also lack of commitment in shouldering responsibilities, work. He said corruption means the moral impurity, act of wrongdoings, and misuse of authority for private gains. Senior Tutor Dr Abdul Naveed said corruption is an evil that decreases the productivity and economic growth. He said that UAF was observing anti-corruption week on the direction of HEC and NAB from December 7 to December 12 in which different programs including essay writing competition, declamation contest, poster and painting competition and awareness walk was being arranged. Principal Officer PRP Prof Dr Jalal Arif also spoke.
