The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has made it to 72nd best University of the world in the subject category of Agricultural Sciences on the basis of various performance ranking indicators conducted by National Taiwan University (NTU) Ranking 2016.

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has made it to 72nd best University of the world in the subject category of Agricultural Sciences on the basis of various performance ranking indicators conducted by National Taiwan University (NTU) Ranking 2016. The latest ranking [would officially be released on October 10 this year] has been emailed to the University Vice Chancellor stating that the UAF has jumped 15 points from 87th last year to 72nd in 2016. Addressing the Deans’ Committee meeting here on Friday, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan congratulated the academic and administrative staff who has been constantly gearing up R&D activities and showcasing its strength at national and international level. He vowed to get position in top 50 universities of the world in the subject category adding that no other university of the country has such distinction of putting it even in top 100 universities in any subject category. Describing the ranking soothing news for higher education of the country as since 2012 from 158th position we are marching towards excellence that put a challenge for all of us to get more distinctions. He expressed his apprehensions that if we even slightly slipped some points that would bring an embarrassment. Dr. Iqrar expressed satisfactions over the under and postgraduate admissions and while giving appreciations to Directorate of Admissions, DGS and other involved stakeholders, he directed the Director Graduate Studies to enable the candidates to come online that would, he said help the university to generate electronic registration numbers and other matters of the students. Speaking on the Pak-US knowledge corridor of sending 10,000 scholars to US during the next 10 years, he said in the chief minster overseas PhD program, the University management has been successful in bringing about a model of dispatching PhD students in different counties after getting fee waiver from the host institutions that would enable us to send 5 more students in the same amount. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan asked the academia to upload the learning material on learning management system at least one day prior to the class day, that, he said would enable the students to prepare their minds accordingly. On Agriculture policy for government, he urged the faculty to write special chapters on water, fertilizer, Energy, Artificial Insemination, vaccines, environment and food safety. Terming the Chinese Language Course for faculty and staff under Confucius Institute an exemplary initiative, he urged the academia aggressively engage them in the course and bring more students in the loop. He directed the conveners of various organizing committees of the forthcoming Rabi Festival to show full ownership and dedication to meet the targets befittingly.
