The US Pakistan Center of Advanced Studies in Agriculture and Food Security, University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Tuesday kicked off four-day workshop on hybrid course design and development meant for equipping the teaching staff with modern teaching skills.

The US Pakistan Center of Advanced Studies in Agriculture and Food Security, University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Tuesday kicked off four-day workshop on hybrid course design and development meant for equipping the teaching staff with modern teaching skills. Prof James R Carey and Prof Thomas L Rost from the University of California, USA will impart the training among the 50 teaching staff of varsity. The workshop includes lecture material, demonstrations and exercise in which participants gain hand-on technical experience. Prof James R Carey said that after getting skills in workshop, participants will be expected to produce a 60 second video on the topic of their choosing using their own slide, the end product of which will be showcased as a movie premier on the last day. He said that the teaching methods with technological support had become essential to gains the interest of the students. Prof Thomas L Rost said that the specific aims for the workshop os to increase the participants knowledge of efficiencies in the use of learning management system and best practices in information design, presentation concepts and video production methods. USPCAS Chief of Party Dr Bashir Ahmad chaired the inaugural session and said that all-out effort was being made to further build the capacity of agrarians and ensure the food security. Dr Nancy from University of California and Dr Ghulam Murtaza also spoke on the occasion.
