USAID funded U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced studies in Agriculture and Food Security (USPCAS-AFS) has established Community Outreach Center at Chak No. 272 JB. The purpose of this center was to provide online advisory guidance to the farmers at their door step. Mr. Azhar Saeed Kashif chairman Union Council 165 along with UAF faculty inaugurated the community center.

USAID funded U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced studies in Agriculture and Food Security (USPCAS-AFS) has established Community Outreach Center at Chak No. 272 JB. The purpose of this center was to provide online advisory guidance to the farmers at their door step. Mr. Azhar Saeed Kashif chairman Union Council 165 along with UAF faculty inaugurated the community center. Addressing the ceremony Azhar Saeed said that farming community would have to seek innovative solution to their problems through this center. He added that information and communication technologies has changed the scenario of dissemination of information. He opined that through ICT farmers would be able to get solution of their day to day agronomic and livestock problems. UAF Associate Professor Dr. Izhar Ahmad Khan said that USAID through USPCAS-AFS program will provide outreach and extension services for more three years to the rural community of this area. He added that under this program not only UAF faculty will interact with farmers in order to provide extension services to them but also will provide answers to their questions through internet. Dr. Babar Shahbaz Chair Outreach, USPCAS-AFS said that under this project four centers have already been established in various tehsils of Faisalabad, Districts and this is the fifth Outlet in this regard. Dr. Qamar Bilal and Dr. Immad spoke about livestock management and Dairy issues. They responded the questions of livestock farmers and gave solution to their problems at the spot. Dr. Hassan Munir Bajwa spoke about sugarcane agronomic issues and gave tips for achieving highest yield. Ch. Muhammad Asif urged the need for establishing such avenues at each Markaz level in the Punjab Province. Farmers also spoke about agricultural policy issues and emphasized on more financial assistance and effective marketing system for small land holders. A large number of farmers from the area attended the ceremony.
