The University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Thursday kicked off three-day Chrysanthemum flower exhibition and arranged one-day film show in order to mark the international human right day.

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Thursday kicked off three-day Chrysanthemum flower exhibition and arranged one-day film show in order to mark the international human right day. The documentary show was arranged in collaboration with European Union in which two documentaries highlighting the issue of human rights were put on display at Iqbal Auditorium in which tens of the hundreds students participated. The events were inaugurated by Anne Kofoad, First Secretary, Head of Governance, Education Cooperation, European Union; Deputy Chief of Mission Embassy of Spain Fernado Heredia; UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and Human Rights Commission senior member Zaman Khan. Addressing on the occasion, Anne Kofoad, First Secretary, Head of Governance, Education Cooperation, European Union said that the show provides an opportunity to debate on the human rights in Europe and in Pakistan. She called for making all efforts to ensure that human rights are cultivated, protected and enforced at all level. She said that they are celebrating the 2015 International Human Rights Day in Pakistan by screening the films in Islamabad, Faisalabad, Lahore and Karachi to highlight the issue of the human rights. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that Islam teaches us to serve the humanity in respite of creed, color and gender. He said that the collective efforts are needed to raise the awareness among the people about the human rights. He said that the flower exhibition was arranged to give the message of peace and human rights to the people. The flower show also remained the centre for attraction for the flower lovers who thronged the varsity to have the delight of autumn flower. The flowers blossoming with all beautiful shades mesmerized the nature lovers. The dozens of different flower arrangements displaying colours of creative ideas are set up by university students and other organization. The exhibition is based on the different theme.
