The Laboratory Boys High School has won the crown of Model Competition held in connection with World Space Week at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad.

The Laboratory Boys High School has won the crown of Model Competition held in connection with World Space Week at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. The theme of the Week this year was discovery. Students from 30 schools have taken part in the contest. They exhibited their skills and presented their innovative ideas to highlight the importance and significance of space sciences. Laboratory School and College System Girls Campus and Pakistan National High School stood second while Umm-ul-Madaris Model School and Al- Sadiq High School got the third position in the Model competition. The contest was aimed at providing a platform to the students to showcase their innovative ideas about the space sciences and its importance in the development of the mankind. A cycling race (100 metre) for women students was also arranged which was won by Aansa Rebi whereas Ayesha Akram and Zaima Gul stood second and third respectively. On December 6, 1999, the United Nations General Assembly declared World Space Week as an annual event from October 4 to 10. The dates based on recognition of two important events in space history: the launch of the first human-made Earth satellite on October 4, 1957; and the signing of the Outer Space Treaty on October 10, 1967. World Space Week is an international celebration of science and technology, and their contribution to the betterment of the human condition.
