Depression and anxiety has become more common in the society, hampering the people to perform their duties with dedication, said renowned US Psychologist Saima Sandhu. She was giving the public lecture on frustration of today's society at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. She said that depression, financial and social issues were pushing the people towards short-temper attitude. She said that unfairness, financial and domestics problems and race to become strong etc are the causes of the depression. She said that Islam is giving the solutions of all the problems confronting the people. We should devote our time to learn from Quran and Sunnah. She said age of the children under 5 was sensitive in which their behavior develops. Therefore, the parents should give special attention to the children. She urged parents and teachers to play their effective role in the development of the nation. . She also said that the youth were facing different psychological issues. She said that teachers and parents should develop the friendly relations with youth so that their issues could be addressed effectively. She said that the individuals should examine themselves and find the way to overcome their shortcomings in order to flourish in life. She said that county was blessed with the tremendous talent. There is the need to give the proper attention on the students to make future bright. She urged the people to develop the habit of self accountability. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that with the increasing enrolment of the students at the universities, it had become need of the hour to provide their counseling. He said the University was making all out efforts to address the issues of the students at every forum. He said that the students counseling had been made the permanent feature of the UAF. Clinical Psychologist Nosaba Amjad said that around 75 percent of the youth were confronting with the different Psychology problems. She said there is the need to give the proper attention to the problems. Government College Women University Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Noureen Aziz was also present on the occasion.
