Afghan Ambassador Janan Mosazai on Thursday said that Afghanistan will replicate the model of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) there to boost the agricultural sector and to promote agricultural education.

University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Afghan Ambassador Janan Mosazai and Punjab Special Secretary Agriculture Marketing Gulzar Hussain Shah addres the meeting of UAF He was addressing the gathering at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad at Iqbal Auditorium. The session was presided over by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while Punjab Special Secretary Agriculture Marketing Gulzar Hussain Shah was the guest of honour on the occasion. The Ambassador said the agriculture was one of the top priority of Afghanistan. He also called for boarding and deepening ties between the both countries in agriculture and education for regional stability and development. He said Afghanistan look forward to work with UAF to strengthen the academic and research ties with Afghan institutions for flourishing agricultural sector in Afghanistan. He said that father of Agriculture in Afghanistan was graduated from the UAF. The ambassador said that both countries were having many commonalities in culture, religion and people. We have the same challenges including agricultural and educational, food security, terrorism etc. He lauded the Pakistani government scheme of 3,000 scholarships for Afghanistan students bringing the tangible results . He said they will open the Consulate in Lahore. He congratulated the UAF for becoming the ever-first Pakistani educational institution ranked among the top 100 universities of the globe. He said that the students exchange will also create a new people-to-people link between the two countries, that will strengthen the existing solid bonds of brotherhood and friendship between the both nations. He invited a delegation of UAF teachers and students to visit his country. He said that ties between the courtiers are based on brotherhood, religion and the similarities in culture. He said that extended ties in the field of education will pave the way to achieve the common goals like poverty alleviation and fight terrorism. Special Secretary Agriculture Marketing Gulzar Hussain said that the Punjab government was making all-out efforts to promote the agricultural sector and to address the issue of poverty alleviation from the country. He said that the Punjab Chief Minister would visit Afghanistan in next month in which bilateral ties and future avenues of collaboration will be discussed. He said ties in agriculture sector will be promoted with Afghanistan. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan stressed the need to work together on the agenda of food security, research and agriculture. He said that ties in the academia will help the countries to learn from the each other experience and work for the common goals. He said that the both countries are confronting with similar challenges. He said that as many 65 Afghan students are currently studying at the UAF. He said UAF was opened for receiving the as many students who want to get education from here. International Club Principal Officer Prof Dr M. Younis stressed the need to make the joint effort to increase the literacy rate and alleviate the poverty from the region. He said that the Islam attaches great importance to education. Foreign Student Adviser Prof Dr M Tahir Siddiqui said Afghan are the brave people who safeguard their culture and values. Our relationship with them was on the brotherhood , religion and similarities in living patterns. He said we have to work hard to ensure the food security, and basic need of life for the people, International Club President Hazratullah Rahimi also spoke.
