This was stated by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while administering the oaths from the newly elected Academic Staff Association (ASA)’s body, University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Thursday. Whereas, Muhammad Athar Nadeem, Assistant Prof, Department of Agronomy has been elected Vice President, UAF Main Campus. Assistant Prof Dr Sibtain Ahmad and Dr Fakhar-ud-Din have been elected as Vice Presidents for UAF Toba Tek Singh and UAF Burewala-Vehari Sub-campuses respectively. Assistant Prof Dr Khurram Zia from Office of Research innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) took oath as new Secretary, ASA whereas Lecturer Iqra Shagufta as joint secretary and the NIFSAT Assistant Prof Dr Allah Rakha as treasure. Prof Dr Muhammad Younas was the Election Commissioner ASA 2015 . Addressing on the occasion, the UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the UAF was taking all tangible initiatives to address the issues of the campus community. He lauded the efforts being made on the part of UAF teaching community for entering into top 100 universities of the globe. He said that the last year, UAF has recruited 130 qualified teachers. He said new 200 recruitment will be made this year to reduce the teachers and students ratio. He said that researches should not be piled up in the libraries. It must be reached at the doors of the common man for the uplift of the society. He said that Talking about UAF other initiatives, he said that a hostel for 1000 women funded by the Punjab Government was being set up at the campus. He said new facilities including exhibition centre, lecture theaters, women complex, working women hostel, state-of-the-art housing units for the lower grades employees, new hostels had been added . New ASA President Amir Saeed said that the academia community will work with more dedication for the uplift of the university and agricultural education and research. He said that the ASA will come up with the comprehensive action plan in May for addressing the issues of academia and agriculture sector. ASA former President Prof Dr Amjad Aulakh said that joint efforts of the faculty and ministration were opening up new chapter of progress for the campus. He said that all-out efforts were made to address the issue of campus community.
