A delegation of 42th Common Training Course , Civil Services Academy, Lahore visited the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. The team headed by Additional Director Civil Secretariat Khalid Javed called on UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan at syndicate room. The UAF Vice Chancellor said that the agriculture was the backbone of economy which was directly linked to food security and poverty alleviation. He said adoption of best varieties, balanced usage of fertilizer, timely sowing of crops, soil analysis and are imperative to increase the agricultural yield and to ensure the food security. He said that the UAF was making all-out efforts to produce train manpower, conducting valuable researches and outreach. He said that the UAF organizes two festivals a year for the farming community. He said that the UAF research portfolio had crossed to Rs 2 billion. He said the UAF had revamped academic, research and outreach programs and introduced as many as 42 new Degree Programs in the recent years in order to produce demand-driven manpower.
