In the milking competition staged at University of Agriculture Faisalabad as part of ongoing Spring festival, Basharat’s cow clinched the first position in the crossbred category with 48 litre per day. Whereas, Ali Zain cow got the second position with 42 litre.

In the milking competition staged at University of Agriculture Faisalabad as part of ongoing Spring festival, Basharat’s cow clinched the first position in the crossbred category with 48 litre per day. Whereas, Ali Zain cow got the second position with 42 litre. In the category of Sahiwal cow, Muhamamd Asharf’s animal got the first position with 24 litre and Anique Ahmad’s cow stood second with 22 litre. In the category of Neli Ravi Buffalo, Rana Ehtasham’s buffalo got the first position with 29.82 litre following the Ahsan Ahmad’s buffalo with 28.6 litre and Nazir Ahmad’s buffalo with 28.3 litre of milk. Addressing the prize distribution ceremony, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the competition was meant to motivate the farming community to find the ways to increase milk production. He called for administrating vaccination to the animals so that the production can be increased. He said that the fodder area in the county was decreasing that is an areas of concern. He said that in the livestock, we have a lot of potential. He said that per animal milk production in the country was very low compared to the rest of the world. Office Bearer of Farmer Associates of Pakistan Afaq Tiwana, UAF member Syndicate Manzoor Ahmad Thakka, UAF Faculty of Agriculture Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Arshad, Director Farms Dr Riaz Ahmad Virk, Dr Ahsan-ul-Haq, Dr Ahsan Chahal, Rana Muhammad Amir and other notables were present on the occasion.
