Sports gala was arranged on the third day of ongoing women week arranged at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. The week is part of World Women Day Celebrations in which different events including seminar, walk, cooking and painting contests, cultural show, etc are being held. The week is aimed at raising the awareness about women rights and empowerment like issues. The concluding session of the Week will be held today (Wednesday) that will be chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. The University of Agriculture remained a hub of sports activities on the third day of women week in which tug of war and basket ball were held. The basket ball was won by UAF Blue Team while defeating the UAF Red Team. In the tug-of-war, UAF Student team defeated the UAF staff. The nutrition camp was also set up to guide the people about the nutrition about the healthy life. MNA Begum Khalida Mansoor was the chief guest on the occasion. She said that women play a pivotal role in the uplift of the society. She said that the government was taking tangible steps for the women empowerment and to address their issue.
