Romanian Ambassador, Emilian Ion, has stressed upon the need to strengthen bilateral relations in the field of agriculture and education to get benefit from each other expertise. He was talking to University of Agriculture Faisalabad’s Deans and Directors meeting chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while Parliamentary Secretary on Economic Affairs Engineer Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan was also present on the occasion. The ambassador invited a delegation of UAF experts in his country to explore the avenue of cooperation in agricultural education and the agriculture sector. He was of the view that education sector is considered most important in Romania like other countries. He said that industry, education and agriculture play an important role in the process of uplift. He said that tangible researches are imperative to address the issue of the society. He called for the producing the quality researches in order to make the development in every sphere of life. He said that Romania was enjoying good relations with Pakistan in education as Romanian teachers are teaching in Lahore. He said that a large number of population in Pakistan was associated with agriculture sector. Rana Afzal said that all out efforts were being made to further strengthening the bilateral ties and to promote trade. Talking about education, he said that under the federal government Pubic Sector Development Programme, Rs 1.6 billion had been earmarked for providing the state-of-the-art facilities to the UAF. He said that education was prerequisite to fulfill the dream of development. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the university research portfolio has crossed the two billion rupees. He said that UAF was meant for the food security and rural development. He said that we admit the students on district quota so that the students of under privileged areas compete with the students of the same district. He said that current students enrollment of the UAF had touched to 20,000 students. He said that the collaboration with Romania would help get benefit from each other experiences. He lauded the steps of government being taken for education sector and to provide Rs 1.6 billion for the UAF
