First Confucius Institute (the Chinese Language Centre) in the Punjab province, established at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, has been formally launched.

First Confucius Institute (the Chinese Language Centre) in the Punjab province, established at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, has been formally launched. The ceremony was held at the Pak China Centre on the auspicious opening occasion of the 2015 Pak-China Year of Friendly Relations. The Institute has started working at main Campus, UAF in collaboration with the Xinjiang Agricultural University (XAU), China. It will help in further cementing the ties of mutual cooperation with the help of language and cultural exchange programme. Plaque launching ceremony of Confucius Institute UAF China Foreign Minister H.E Wang Yi, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Vice Chancellor, UAF/President CI-UAF Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Chinese Dean Prof. Dr. Yang Zhijiang, UAF Director External Linkages/Vice Chairman, CI-UAF Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad Chattha, Chinese Teacher Li Yuxin and office-bearers of different organizations of Pak-China friendship and prominent personalities belonging to various walks of life attended the ceremony. Pak-China relations had broken new grounds of cooperation that took an initiative of first Confucius Institute in the province at the UAF. It would enable the people of both countries come closer through language learning and knowing the culture of each other. After the successful completion of first Chinese Language Class, now the second class will be started from March 1, 2015 at the institute
