Faisalabad has won the crown of Second Lyallpur National Tchoukball Championship for Women held at Sports Complex, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.

Faisalabad has won the crown of Second Lyallpur National Tchoukball Championship for Women held at Sports Complex, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. Faisalabad defeated Dera Ghazi Khan’s team by 22-21. Whereas, Lahore stood third by winning against Hyderabad with 24-16 points . UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad flanked by renowned anchorperson Sohail Warraich, MPs Dr Najma Afzal Khan and Suraiya Nasim was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony. The Championship was arranged by Pakistan Tchoukball Federation in which teams from Lahore, DG Khan, Bannu, Bahawalpur, Mirpur Khas, Hyderabad, and Faisalabad participated. Talking to media, the UAF Vice Chancellor said that sports not only help a person maintain the good health but also sharpen the brains. He stressed upon the need to develop a sportsman spirit in order to fight the different challenges faced the country. He said that UAF was making all-out efforts to promote the sports activities among the university students. He said that a state-of-the-art handball stadium is established. The UAF in collaboration with district government is setting up the Horse Riding School. Basit Shakeel Hashmi President Pakistan Tchoukball Federation, Emmanuel Asad Secretary General PTBF, Mrs. Nasira Kafeel President, PTBF Ladies Wing, and Mr. Tariq Nazir DO Sports Faisalabad, Chairman UAF Sports Board Dr Ihsan-ul-Haq and other notables attended the concluding ceremony. A cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000 was given to the winning champion, whereas Rs. 50,000 to runner up and Rs. 30,000 to third position holder team disbursed.
