As many as 50 scholars will be sent abroad for higher studies this year under the first phase of Punjab Government foreign scholarship announced for the University of Agriculture Faisalabad.

As many as 50 scholars will be sent abroad for higher studies this year under the first phase of Punjab Government foreign scholarship announced for the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. This was stated by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while chairing the Deans Committee at Syndicate Room. He praised the Punjab Government initiative of granting 300 foreign scholarships saying that it will help the country in ensuring the food security and for the uplift of agricultural and rural people. He was of the view that trained and skilled manpower was the engine of progress and prosperity of any county. He added that university was making all-out efforts to sharpen the skills of the students and to conduct valuable researchers in order to address the issues of the farming community and the agricultural sector. He said at the inception of UAF in 1961 as varsity, 100 foreign scholarships were awarded, resulting in bringing the green revolution and the advancement in agriculture sector. He said that all measures are being taken to ensure the foolproof security here. He said that joint research work was the need of the hour to address the different challenges of the country. He said that the country was blessed with the tremendous talents and resources so we have to make joint efforts to tap the potential.
