The academic reference for University of Agriculture Faisalabad renowned professor, literary person Prof Dr Aslam Pervez (late) was held at Iqbal Auditorium in order to pay homage and tribute for his tremendous curriculum and extra curriculum services. UAF VC Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan receives an audio CD of a student of UAF Art Club developed under the guidance of Late Prof Dr M Aslam Pervez UAF VC Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan addresses a participants of an Academic Reference to commemorate and pay tribute to late Prof Dr M Aslam Pervez Senior Tutor Addressing on the occasion, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that Prof. Dr. Aslam Pervez was a long time trusted friend and colleague, finer person, well read, sensitive human being and proactive and helpful individual. He was bold enough to tell the truth and be a part of progressive thinking. He was a believer of pluralism. As senior tutor, he transformed a little known office into a center of activities on the campus. The campus has earned more recognition and distinctions during past five years than its entire existence in the past. I have seen him working day and night. He never came to me for any personal gains. He would only ask for facilities to the students. He would share with me successes of his students as if those were for his own children. We have all seen the way he promoted Rabia Fridi. For students, Aslam Pervez was a father, a mentor and a passionate leader. He commanded respect among the students and their families. He has transformed generations. He has left a lasting mark in the history of extracurricular activities. Be that a religious event, a declamation, a drama, a musical function, a sports event, a flower show or a community function, Aslam Pervez was equally at ease. His legacy shall live on and on….But, we shall miss him dearly. Professionally, Aslam Pervez made significant research contribution in the area of vegetable production. He was successful in securing extramural funds and he earned respect among his peers. Lately, he was very active as Principal Investigator of an Australian program. I happen to personally visit ACIAR twice in Canberra and found his professional presence. He ran his institutional functions effectively. Recently, he was appointed as TTS professor. His departure is an irreparable loss to the UAF community. He said that he will do every possible efforts to keep him alive. Academic Staff Association President Prof Dr Amjad Aulak said that the education and capacity building of the students was Dr Aslam’s passion who worked day and night for the development of the students and the University as well. He said that his name is written on the golden pages of the UAF. He vowed to continue his mission. Dr Aslam’s Brother Dr Zafar said that Dr Aslam’s always remained busy in reading and transfer it among the students and his peer as well. He said that we are all gathered to continue his mission for the uplift of the society. He said that he was practicing excellent ethics that will be remembered forever. Principal Officer Student Affairs Dr Muhammad Younas said that during his tenure, the Office of Senior Tutor remained a hub of activities and touched the new heights. Dr Tahir Siddique, Rana Muhammad Aslam, Bahadar Ali, Dr CM Ayub, Naveed Irshad, Rehana Qureshi, Dr Atif Riaz, Rabia Faridi, and others spoke on the occasion.
