Feiko Von Bad-Boll with tag # 110 and Aike Vom Schone Geschof with Token No. 200 have clinched the German Shepherded male and female dog sow trophy at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. The event was jointly organized by Royal Canine and Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad with UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan (SI) as chief guest. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan (SI) gives away winning trophy and certificate to a winner of Dog Show at UAF Pet lovers hailing from Faisalabad, Sarghodha, Lahore and other parts of the province participated in the event with their German Shepherds. The campus remained a centre of attraction for pet lovers as tens of hundreds thronged the campus to witness the show. Speaking on the occasion, UAF VC Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the dog show was organized at a time when the whole nation is going through a difficult time with respect to terrorism. He said such events can open news ways to educate the masses keep them secure through effective learning of using the security gadgets and safeguard themselves with the help of good quality dogs. He said the objectives of the dog show was to promote healthy activities among the youth that can also be used to effectively meet the challenges posed by extremists as the dogs are acclaimed and vigilant security providers across the world. Talking about the event, Former Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Prof Dr (Rtd) Laeeq Akbar Lodhi said the event provided an opportunity to pet lovers to enjoy the show. He said it will raise awareness among the Veterinary Sciences students about beauty parameters of dogs and standards of dog show. According to results arranged by Judge Ms Joanne Cathie, Daff Crveni Mayestoro token 104 followed by Dux Crevni Mayestoro of 107 stood 2nd and 3rd position in Open Male competition whereas Lessee Vom Wildburg of 223 and Queen Vom Schwarzwald with token No. 230 grabbed 2nd and 3rd position. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan distributed the prizes among the winners.
