The per unit of electricity through the Chinese investment in the energy sector will cost Rs 8.5 rupees, said former law minister Rana Sanaullah. He was talking to the laptop distribution ceremony at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. He said that the government was making all-out efforts to address the issue of energy crisis, curb terrorism and to ensure law and order situation. He said that the country was suffering from the challenges of energy and law and order situation that is crippling the economic activities and life. He said that government was also using alternative resources to address the energy crisis. He said that big dams construction needs 8 to 10 years to complete. He said that therefore, the government was working on coal resources that would take three years and said that shortfall of energy would be met during the present tenure of the government. He condemned the incidence of Kot Radha Krishan in which a Christian couple was killed and burned. He said that impatience inn the society was increasing. He said that it was disgusting that a large number of people were gathered at the incidence but no one even speak to leave the couple and let the police investigate the matter. He said that Islam was religion of peace. One must read the Quran in order to understand the spirit of Islam from his own eye. He saluted the army for the Zarb-e-Azab which are fighting with the extremism for providing saving our lives. He said that effective measures are needed to end the thinking pattern of extremists who are taking the lives of people on the name of their brand of religion. Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance. Higher Education Commission Executive Director Dr Mansoor Kundi said that the democracy was the way of progress and prosperity. He was of the view that the without the quality education and enhanced literacy rate, we cannot face the challenges confronting the country. He lauded the steps being taken on the part of UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan for moving the university in top 100 universities of the globe. UAF VC Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that adoption of new technology was prerequisite to compete with the rest of the world. He said that usage of computer will provide the students to get the modern knowledge. He urged the students to develop the innovative ideas and with the usage of IT, they can provide the solutions of different issues. He said the Punjab Government was making the tangible steps for the cause of education sector. He said that in the current phase, 1105 laptops were distributed. District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin was also present.
