Renowned writer Mustansar Hussain Tarrard called for promoting patience and reading habits in the society in order to curb prejudicial attitude and to progress in every sphere of life.

Renowned writer Mustansar Hussain Tarrard called for promoting patience and reading habits in the society in order to curb prejudicial attitude and to progress in every sphere of life. He was talking during a public lecture at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad at Iqbal Auditorium arranged by Senior Tutor Office. He said with the passage of time, the change in the attitudes is obvious and we are giving up our valuable tradition which is a matter of concern. He said that the country was blessed with the talented people. But due to lack of education and prejudice, we are lagging behind from the rest of the world. He said that although the technology has brought tremendous blessing for us and people are using soft copy for reading, but, he said importance of hard copy of the books cannot be ruled out. “Printed books had the more influence on the people, he added. He urged the students to develop the brotherhood and the love for the country. He said that no nation can make the development without dedication, honesty and hardworking. He said that the land of Punjab had produced many renowned scholars. He stressed upon the need to take the measures to ensure rights of the others and play our effective role in this regard. Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan urged the student to think out of the box and to develop the leadership qualities. He said that Mustansar has made countless contributions towards literature, and promoting intellect thinking of the society. He said UAF is investing its resources on polishing the linguistics skills of the students that would help achieve the desired goal. He said that owing to exuberant contributions of Senior Tutor Office Rabia Faridi, and Anam Safdar were nominated Youth Ambassador on Education by UNGA, another girl Sadaf Amin is also going to represent the country in Oslo Youth Summit next month. He urged the teaching community to turn all stones for the polishing the God-given abilities of the students. The teachers play an important role in this regard. He said that UAF was making all out efforts to train the manpower and address the issues of farming community. The agriculture is directly linked to the rural development and poverty alleviation.
