Bio Energy Plant of 200 Kilowatt would be set up at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad in order to promote the technology and to overcome the energy crisis. The plant is sponsored by China.

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has opened admission to different free-of-cost technical six months shorts courses aimed at skill to matriculate and middle pass students. The courses, including citrus processing, advance food production; dairy technician; meat technology; fruit processing; packaging and logistic and meat handling and processing, are being by the University Department of Continuing Education in collaboration with Punjab Skills Development Programme. The steps are being taken on the directions of UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan in a bid end the unemployment through skill development. Chairman Continuing Education Dr Mahmood A Randhawa said that stipend and uniform will also be offered to students in order to encourage them to get the technical courses. He said that the last date to apply is December 10 and list be displayed on December 12. The candidates aged more than 15-year old are eligible to apply. The educational criteria for citrus processing; advance food production is matriculation whereas for the rest of courses it is grade 8 ( middle).
