Dr. Sarmad Rehan

Lecturer
Department of Anatomy
Full Name: Dr. Sarmad Rehan
Designation: Lecturer
Qualification: Ph.D.
Specialization: Anatomy
Research Areas: Dr Sarmad Rehan’s research areas spans anatomical morphometric, histological, and physiological investigations across livestock and avian species, with a strong applied orientation toward animal production, welfare and translational veterinary science. His early landmark work in camel and goat morphometry and histomorphometry defined age and sex related anatomical norms in cardiovascular and endocrine organs, thereby providing a foundational reference for veterinary anatomy and physiology. More recently, Dr Rehan has extended his expertise to address developmental programming in mammals- investigating gestational maternal under nutrition and its effects on fetal morphometry, coronary vascular development and long term cardiovascular risk in rabbits. Dr Rehan’s work is distinguished by rigorous microscopy, image analysis, morphometry and a passion for translating anatomical and histological insights into actionable improvements in veterinary health and animal productivity. The trajectory of Dr Rehan’s research reflects an evolving suite of interests: from classical anatomical description → pathophysiological mechanisms → nutritional and microbial modulations → emerging technologies (nano therapies) — all within the context of improving livestock and poultry outputs in Pakistan’s agricultural environment. His role at UAF includes supervising postgraduate research, teaching anatomy and histology, and collaborating on inter disciplinary projects that bridge basic anatomical science and practical production or health applications in domestic animals.
