6-day FILM SAAR International Children’s Festival jointly organized by The Little Art ,Lahore and The Office of Senior Tutor University of Agriculture ,Faisalabad (UAF)kicked off here at Iqbal Auditorium of the University on Monday. Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Vice Chancellor (UAF) inaugurated the Festival. During this festival Educational and Infotainment movies would be shown to school children of Faisalabad District. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Guest Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan said the student teacher dynamic has drastically changed since the introduction of technology based class structure .He added that the instructor is no longer the king of the classroom but rather a middleman between information and student. He was of the view that instead of a passive sponge soaking up knowledge, the student has now become an active informational architect, procuring, rearranging and displaying information. Dr Khan said that the use of technology in education has had a positive impact on the students, educators, as well as the educational system as a whole. He maintained that International Film Festival will be a milestone in order to introduce film technology among the school children. Prof. Dr. M Aslam Parvez , Senior Tutor UAF said that the teacher, instead of being the center of attention, becomes a facilitator of the means by which students learn using modern technology. He added that University has adopted Audio-Visual mechanism as an affective learning Method. Syed Ali Hameed Representative of The Little Art said that we have been striving for promoting creativity among the young students in order to enable them at par with international standards in harmonized manner by using Modern technology since 2007. He hoped that all public and private schools will send their kids to watch movies shown at Iqbal Auditorium twice a day till Oct.20th .Mr. Saleem Mohsin , Headmaster Laboratory High School and Mr. Abdul Mannan also spoke on the occasion.
