FAISALABAD March 5, 2025: Amid the challenges faced the country, it is essential to produce tangible research work, trained manpower, academic and research excellence, strong academia-industry linkages and entrepreneurship skills in order to solve different problems and make progress with knowledge-based economy. It was stated by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali while addressing the employees and faculty members at Iqbal Auditorium. He called for promoting the culture of brotherhood, ownership and discipline for a prosperous society. He said we will have to design degree courses keeping local, regional and international challenges in view to produce skilled manpower that is prerequisite for the uplift. He said that the country youth must be equipped with modern skills. He said that in the present era, knowledge -based economies were proving their mettle. He stressed upon the need for strong industry-academia linkages to disseminate the latest technologies among the farming community. He urged UAF scientists to come up with out-of-the-box solutions for which funding should be got at international or national level and the innovative idea can be translated into goods and services. . He said that innovations will prove to be milestones in solving agriculture and other problems. He said that digitalization was being promoted to ensure transparency in the university. He urged the campus community to decorate the campus atmosphere with respect and pearls of wisdom so that this candle can play its role in brightness. He said that we have to make joint efforts for curricular and research excellence in the university that will also help improve ranking. He urged agricultural scientists to play their full role to address the agricultural issues. It will help develop the sector on scientific basis and an per acre production can be ensured.
