2nd Pakistan Expo on Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR) 2025

FAISALABAD May 8: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad displayed its innovative disaster risk reduction technologies to ensure food security at 2nd Pakistan Expo on Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR) 2025 organized by National Disaster Management Authority in Islamabad. The technological stall set up on the directives of UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali was installed by the Business Incubation Centre, UAF at the Expo. The technologies included locust and dengue control, flood early detection and wheat, oilseed, soybean and industrial hemp technologies. The BIC team was headed by Director Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad, UAF, who briefed the delegates including chief guest, Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik; Chairman NDMA, Director General NDMA and others about the UAF innovative technologies. Dr Sikandar Ali presented his research on transboundary flood management and impact of Indian dams while Dr Shahid Majeed briefed about UAF locust/dengue technologies.
